Families use Trusted Care Insight to make decisions about the health and safety of someone they love. We take that seriously. This page explains how our content is researched, written, checked and kept up to date.
Who Writes Our Content
Content is written by Shahzad A., a pharmacist with more than 10 years of experience in health-sector medication and equipment procurement and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS). Learn more on our About page.
How We Research Health Topics
- Health information is based on recognized sources such as the CDC, the National Institute on Aging, the FDA, Medicare, the Alzheimer’s Association and professional guidance on medication safety in older adults.
- Every health article includes guidance on when to contact a doctor or emergency services, and we never suggest that a product replaces medical care.
- Medication content follows a pharmacist’s safety-first approach: for example, never changing, stopping, crushing or doubling a medication without professional advice.
How We Choose and Check Products
- Safety first. We prioritize safety features (such as tip-over shut-off on heaters, ASTM-certified bed rails and automatic shut-off on heated products) over price or popularity.
- Verified details. Key specifications such as weights, capacities and features are checked against current product listings. Where a detail can’t be confirmed, we say so rather than guess.
- Track record matters. We favor products with a substantial history of customer ratings, and we clearly note when a product is newer or has few reviews.
- Honest limitations. We point out when a product isn’t the right choice. For example, a bed rail isn’t a restraint, and a cane isn’t enough for someone who is falling.
- No unsafe recommendations. We won’t recommend products for safety or medical purposes (such as fall detection or hearing devices) unless reliable, well-reviewed options are available.
We do not currently test every product hands-on. Our recommendations are based on specifications, verified listing information, customer feedback patterns and professional judgment about safety and suitability.
Keeping Content Accurate
- We regularly audit product links and listings for availability, price changes and specification accuracy, and update or replace recommendations when products change or are discontinued.
- When we find an error, we correct it promptly.
- Articles are reviewed and updated as guidance or products change.
